Introduction: Orthopedic Prosthesis Orthosis Technician is the person who works in the production of orthoses applied to body parts that need to be functionally supported, protected and corrected for any reason in case of limb loss in the human body due to various reasons. Responsible for tasks such as taking measurements from the patient for the production of prosthesis-orthosis, processing the obtained measurement model and making biomechanical adjustments for the prosthesis or orthosis.
The main purpose of the Orthopedic Prosthesis and Orthosis Program: To train health technicians who are competent to make prostheses that can replace the functions of the limbs in question for people who have lost their arms and legs for various reasons, and durable, aesthetic and functional orthoses for pain reduction, function enhancement, immobilization, corrective and supportive purposes in pathologies related to the musculoskeletal and nervous system.
Job Opportunities: Graduates can work in state, private and university hospitals with Prosthesis-Orthosis workshops and in their own private workshops. They can personally measure and make arm and leg prostheses, body corsets, short and long walking devices, foot supports and similar auxiliary devices.
