Introduction: The optics sector is a health sector established with the aim of eliminating defects diagnosed by ophthalmologists and applying the treatment to the patient completely.
In the optics sector, opticians, store owners and sales personnel work together as a team. People who have graduated from the Opticians Program of Health Vocational Schools of Universities are called "Opticians". Opticians consist of people who can read prescriptions created for the correction and elimination of visual impairments, supply optical devices and are trained to provide special applications to the patient in accordance with the prescription.

The main purpose of the Opticians Program: The purpose of this program is to train health personnel who can sell the prescriptions given by eye specialist doctors, all kinds of lenses, optical vision devices, eyeglass frames, protective glasses and sunglasses or who can make glasses in accordance with the prescription. During the program, our students are provided with opticians' professional knowledge, as well as physics, eye structure, eye diseases, business and marketing knowledge and technical tool usage skills.

Job Opportunities: Students who graduate from this program can open their own optical stores with the title of “Optician” or work as a responsible manager in optical institutions. Opticians work in businesses that make and sell glasses.

Duration of Education: 2 Years

Type of Diploma: Associate Degree

Graduation Requirements: 120 ECTS and successful completion of the Compulsory Summer Internship.
