Introduction: In order to contribute to the reduction of physical, mental and social disabilities that occur with aging in elderly individuals, a need for intermediate staff who can provide medical and social care services has emerged. Therefore, the main objective of the program is to ensure that students who will benefit from the program integrate and internalize the necessary knowledge, skills and values regarding elderly care services and become competent elderly care technicians who are qualified to implement and develop elderly care services in public, private and non-governmental organizations. The elderly care program covers a two-year associate degree program.
The main objective of the Elderly Care Program is to train professional staff who can provide qualified and professional care services to the elderly population, which is increasing day by day in our country. The program aims to train human resources who are familiar with the basic principles, processes and management of institutions providing services in the field of elderly care, who can communicate effectively and efficiently with the elderly, who can increase the quality of life of the elderly, and who have internalized the necessary knowledge, skills and values regarding the care service of the elderly.
Job Opportunities: Graduates of the program receive the title of “Elderly Care Technician”. Graduates; They can work under the supervision of experts in the units related to their fields under the Ministry of Family and Social Policies, municipalities, hospitals, nursing homes, nursing homes for the elderly, dormitories for the weak, day centers for the elderly, hospice (a nursing home for the elderly in the terminal period), practices for the elderly in health units, palliative care units, home care services, organizing the homes of the elderly, and protected residences.
